Back-to-back 3s from Burke and Ian Clark started the run, and it was punctuated by Gordon Haywards dunk as time expired. In the third quarter, Utah used a 10-0 run to build its largest lead at 20. During the surge, Gobert scored three points, grabbed three rebounds and blocked a shot. The Jazz led 77-61 after three. Wiggins and Williams combined to score 10 points in the first three minutes of the final quarter in a 10-2 run that pulled the Timberwolves within eight and forced a Jazz timeout. Minnesota did not get any closer after that. A Derrick Favors slam dunk out of the timeout extended the lead back to double digits, and it remained there for the rest of the game. Burke scored 11 points in the final nine minutes to help the Jazz put the game away. The Timberwolves had a 21-20 edge after one quarter, led by six points from Wiggins.
